It is with gratitude for this community and those with whom I am blessed to serve in the name of Christ, that I write to you in order to share some sad news for our community of faith. On February 2, 2022 at 8:30 pm Ed Bieler entered the Church Triumphant. Ed passed away at Lehigh Valley Hospital with Kathy by his side. He was under hospice care for a very brief time, and we all give thanks for the peace and comfort which they provided our brother in Christ. In addition to serving as the Senior Choir Director here for over 50 years and as our Director of Music, Ed was also a past Moderator, Handbell Director, Brass Group coordinator, Chair of the Health and Safety Team, Vice Moderator, First Monday Meal prepper, Rise Against Hunger food packer, Relay for Life go getter, Church apron wearing, Grinch shirt sporting, avid Philadelphia Eagle fan, Schwenkfelder, man of God! It is an honor and privilege to have known him and worked closely with him during my time as pastor.
The memorial service in celebration of Ed’s life will be THIS Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. here at Palm. The family asks that you please mask for the service. Please know that the service will also be recorded and posted to the Falk Funeral home website on Ed’s Memory Wall.
Our prayers, love and broken-hearts are especially with Kathy. Please continue to respect her need for space, rest and healing in these days of grieving and refrain from calling her directly, unless she has reached out to you. May the comfort of Jesus Christ be with all of you who mourn as we continue this journey of grief, gratitude and celebration together as the family of faith.
