Why your support of this Music Ministry matters ~
The United Schwenkfelder Choir is a music ministry with a 90-year history of serving the North Penn and Perkiomen regions. The choir has several goals which provide the direction and motivation to continue this program year after year.
Since many churches have disbanded their traditional choirs or significantly reduced their participation on a regular basis, the United Choir offers singers the opportunity to gather together to prepare and present wonderful choral music beyond what their own church could do and often with instrumental accompaniment.
The choir then brings that music to the public with two concerts in the beginning of December at the start of the Advent season. Over the years, many of the singers and those attending have remarked that participating in the choir or attending the concerts really marks the start of the Christmas season personally, and without it, Christmas wouldn’t be the same. Since the concerts are free, the choir depends on the generosity of those attending as well as the individual and business sponsors listed in the program.
Lastly, the choir shares its inspirational, musical Christmas message with one of the retirement communities in the area.
